How can I apply?
- You can apply online here.
What should I do if I do not have an oral health provider?
- Speak to your local oral health providers to ask if they accept CDCP patients.
What should I expect once I apply?
- If your application is approved, you will receive a welcome package from Sun Life within approximately three months of submitting your application.
- It will include an overview of your coverage, your member card, and your coverage start date.
How do CDCP payments work?
- To limit out-of-pocket costs, providers who see CDCP patients must bill Sun Life directly and accept payment for services covered under the CDCP.
- CDCP patients may have to pay additional charges, in addition to any applicable co-payment, depending on their services and the treatment cost.
- Treatment expenses under the CDCP are only covered after a CDCP patient’s coverage start date.
- Before receiving any services, CDCP patients should ask their oral health provider about any costs not covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
